Respect our world
With his work ‘Respect our world’ at the Hotel Marzia, the artist depicts a mermaid swimming from the seabed to the surface of the water holding the letter ‘C’, the initial of the city of Caorle. Accompanying her is one of the domestic animals par excellence, a cat, revisited in this context as a ‘mermaid-cat’. The colours chosen relate to the nuances of marine nature with a precise selection of colour scales. The pose of the mermaid and the typeface used for the letter-tribute, on the other hand, are intended to recall the Art Nouveau style so dear to the author. The mermaid bears a tattoo on her right shoulder with the inscription ‘Respect our world’: a message that draws attention to respect and conservation, as well as the protection of the environment. The artist’s aim is to highlight how human action, if appropriate, sustainable and interconnected with the environment, can lead to general well-being.
Shife V.H.Ro
Shife V.H.Ro was born in Padua in 1981. His artistic career is rooted in the 1990s with a deep interest in urban art manifestations such as Street Art and Graffitism. In 2005, he graduated with honours in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, continuing his personal research in terms of both technique and figuration. He has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad and in festivals.
Painting, graphics and murals come to life as the end result of studies and experimentation: from the lightness of Lost Walls, created using the acrylic fusion technique, to the intensity of the symbologies of works such as Allegoria della Natura, the mural painted for the 2023 edition of the Padua Street Art Biennale SuperWalls. Moving from Pop culture to Art Nouveau, following his passion for specific forms and meanings as a trace, he has always made change and figurative unpredictability his strong point, while remaining clearly recognisable.
